nice to meet you

Hello to all my fellow dads!!  My name is Tim I am a middle aged father of two beautiful amazing kids and like most of us I have no idea how that happened!  Ok yes I know how but there are times I just wish it did not happen so fast!

I live on Long Island NY with my kids and wife of 11 amazing years.  Between working full time and all the activities the kids are in you can get lost in the shuffle and the crazy!   You start to wonder where is the time going as you run around trying to be involved in all the events in the lives of your kids.

The pandemic comes along I have since started working from home which has allowed me time to take on the chores at home the laundry, cooking, and cleaning.  I began to wonder how the lives of all dads began to change.  Unfortunately there was no news or story or any real concern at all for us dads!  This where the idea for this blog came to be.

everydown dad

Everydown Dad is the dad who wants to be there for every moment in the life of their children whether when hurt or the moments of accomplishment or joy.  At the same time we have to work hard and sometimes long in order for those moments to come.

There is also the life of the dad we all know that life it is the one of yard work or house repair those “dad” or “man” tasks that are somehow inherently assigned to us for no other reason then being born male!

You can sense and you know these things will pile up fast and the stress and anxiety that comes from it can consume you without even realizing not to mention the fear of failure as a father as you juggle everything!!  I am sure like many I find I lose myself at times as I lose touch with things I enjoy doing.  

The hope is to share how we can manage the day to day in our lives while still making that time and effort for us dads to enjoy ourselves.  There are many downs in the game of life for us fathers and we should not have to miss any.  So let me bring you along the journey as it will be our shared experiences that will help us navigate this crazy thing called fatherhood!!
